BONNIE TAUB-DIX, MA,RD,CDN is Director and Owner of BTD Nutrition Consultants, LLC, with offices on Long Island and in New York City. In this role for the past thirty-three years, Bonnie counsels individuals, including many celebrities and dignitaries, as well as groups. She is an advisor to major corporations, law firms, food companies, and fitness clubs, setting up wellness programs, working on messaging, conducting seminars, and providing media interviews.
Corporate Consultant & Advisory Board Member:
As a nutrition consultant to The Cartoon Network, Bonnie collaborated on designing a program for the Food and Drug Administration regarding food labeling, and to date, consults with CN on issues regarding programming and advertising to children. As a liaison between industry and the public, she holds a position on the editorial advisory boards of Family Circle Magazine, HealthyWomen.com and Environmental Nutrition Newsletter. Recently appointed as a Nutrition Communications Consultant to The Alliance for Potato Research and Education, her responsibilities for this organization includes communicating messages to dietitians and health professionals via workshops, writing, and social media. Bonnie has played a prominent role in other health-related organizations, including serving as committee member for the Governor’s Council on Osteoporosis.

Spokesperson:
Bonnie served as a Media Spokesperson to the New York State Dietetic Association for five years after which she was appointed to the position of Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for six years. During that period of time she conducted thousands of interviews for all forms of media and even after leaving that position, has been called upon regularly as a trusted resource.

Bonnie is a regular guest on national television shows including CNN, CBS Early Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, TODAY Show, Anderson Cooper 360, The Mike and Juliet Show, The Daily, and FOX 5 News. She’s worked with the Discovery Channel and Lifetime TV as an on-air consultant for several nationally broadcast programs.

When participating in Radio Media Tours, Bonnie could be a guest on fifteen to twenty radio shows in one day! She regularly appears on Dr. Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio as well as several other programs including Martha Stewart Radio.

Bonnie is a prolific writer on issues related to nutrition for both popular and professional publications providing practical advice on healthy living to the press via New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, The Daily News, The New York Post and The Chicago Tribune. For two and a half years, she wrote a column for Newsday, and her articles and interviews have also appeared in Life, Everyday with Rachel Ray, Health, Vogue, Shape, Fitness, Reader’s Digest, Weight Watchers, Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food, Ladies’ Home Journal, Prevention, Women’s Day, and Men’s Health, just to name a few. She was a consultant to books including Nutrition for Dummies, Cholesterol for Dummies, and The Only 127 Things You Need, and she has written chapters for textbooks, including Weight Management: A Practical Guide, The Entrepreneurial Nutritionist, and Nutrition Concerns of Women.
Bonnie published her first book, Read It Before You Eat It, translating confusing and misleading terminology into consumer-friendly information. Her strong relationships with members of the media have enabled her as a Registered Dietitian to guide shoppers down the supermarket aisle. Her book has been welcomed as a reliable resource in the food-labeling arena. Moreover, many journalists have told Bonnie that this book is an invaluable tool in writing stories for their readers on making healthy food choices. Her book has attracted over 200 interviews in all forms of media and the evergreen subjects of healthy supermarket shopping and label reading are still sited regularly.

She wrote a weekly blog for USA Today for over three years, reporting on the latest nutrition- and diet-related news as well as conducting interviews with prominent figures in and outside of our field. Her blog draws much attention and is often sited by others in all social media venues. She is also a contributor to MSNBC.com and writes for a vast array of websites including but not limited to BlogHer, HealthWomen.com, Kosher.com, and she has also guest blogged for many other sites. Culinary Skills:
With a great passion for and understanding of food science, she displays her creativity in modifying recipes and designing menus for restaurants and is the co-author of Kosher By Design Lightens Up, a book that blends the science of nutrition and tradition of home cooking. Although the combination of the words “kosher” and “healthy” seem like an oxymoron, Bonnie’s cooking skills has helped to demonstrate that you can preserve tradition while preserving your health…all on the same plate.
Bonnie takes pride in including recipes and photographs within her stories emphasizing the fact that nutritious and delicious can coexist.
Awards:
Bonnie has been honored with the 2012 Media Excellence award by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In 2003, she received the Outstanding Nutrition Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the American Dietetic Association, and the following year she was acknowledged with the New York State Dietetic Association’s Media Excellence Award.

Bonnie received her Bachelors Degree in Clinical and Community Dietetics from Downstate Medical Center and her Masters Degree in Nutrition from New York University.
