Meat-Less & Taste-Full

PizzaMany A delicious way for us to commemorate Meatless Monday is to create a recipe that might be missing meat, but certainly doesn’t lack color, flavor, and texture. A personal favorite dish that my kids are I always enjoy making is an easy DIY pizza. When I have lots of time, I make the dough, throw together a homemade sauce and then add any veggie I could find in my fridge. But Mondays in my house are hectic, so this version is so simple, it doesn’t even require a recipe. Here’s all you need to do: -   Buy a ready made pizza dough from a nearby pizza shop or purchase a frozen dough from the supermarket (whole wheat types are best, if you could find them.) Prepare according to directions. -   Top with your favorite tomato sauce or sliced fresh tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese. Let your kids choose from a medley of toppings (chopped broccoli, spinach, sliced mushrooms, grilled peppers) to allow them to personalize their pies. -   Bake on a heated pizza stone or a pan at 375 degrees F until the cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
